Exposing price discrimination in online shopping (Marketplace)
Everything At This Online Grocery Store Costs
Like Willy Wonka's factory existing IRL or zero-calorie ice cream that doesn't taste like styrofoam, a -or-less grocery store specializing in organic, GMO-free foods seemed too good to be true. Oh, and most of the products are fair trade, without added sugar, too.
That's what Brandless, a new online grocery store, offers. Noteverythingis organic and fair trade, but a huge portion of it is, prompting editors to try it for themselves. The foods were every bit as good as the kinds you'd find at Whole Foods — only the packaging is zero frills. And that's where the savings comes in, the founders say. They don't sell brand names, which saves them the "brand tax" that can drive up prices.
Of course, you will have to pay for shipping (a flat fee, unless you rack up a bill of or more, in which case it's free). They also donate one meal to Feeding America every time you head to the checkout.
