Courtesy of a new fabrication, this skinny jean is constructed in the same way as hosiery, giving it a lightweight and extra soft feel with the classic denim fit that you have grown to expect from J Brand. Any skinny jeans that enable us to crouch comfortably (you know, to tie up our newest pair of shoes) are a slam-dunk in our book.

A skinnier version of the ubiquitous boyfriend jean, this new style from MiH is ideal for wearing with a blazer and heels, and gets even more polish in this Moon wash—the perfect hybrid of khaki and denim.

What is more classic than Gap jeans, you ask? A ladylike jacket, perhaps? Enter Gap’s new collarless denim jacket: the perfect marriage of two classic staples.

We often leave our white jeans on the shelf because, well, we have a rather embarrassing track record of spilling things. Sound familiar? Fret no more, because Joe’s Jeans has created a spill-proof fabric for their new, all-white Spotless collection. The line includes shorts, a skirt, skinny jeans and our favourite, the Spotless Suit Ankle Trouser (9).

For the girls who want their denim broken in, thrashed about, and generally aged with style, look no further than Citizens’ new Premium Vintage line. The brand uses a mixture of selvage and non-selvage fabrics with specialised washes and handiwork to create pieces with a unique character.

DSTLD (pronounced “distilled”) is a new line built on the premise that denim should be stripped down to its core essentials, namely great fit, without unnecessary bells and whistles. Ring-spun dual-flex yarn technology guarantees resilience and softness, and the starting price isn’t bad either.

The newest hit style from Frame Denim is Le Rip, a thoroughly tattered and slashed skinny that has already been worn by the likes of Beyonce.

The new line out of LA is obsessively focused on fit. The three current styles include the skinny, the skinny flare, and our favourite, the ciggy. Shown at left in the classic AYR wash, this lean style is cropped to hit at just the right height above the ankle. The sleek back pockets also work wonders.

DL1961 clocked some serious hours in the lab creating new fabrics to reinvent their already successful styles. The Premium Denim Angel Ankle Jeans (8) at left were constructed from pro-modal, environmentally friendly fibres. Translation: this means that manufacturing their incredibly soft feel and saturated colour uses less water, less energy, and fewer dyes than typical jeans. The fabric is also 50% more absorbent than cotton. Don’t ask us how it works.

Founded 23 years ago by Jerome Dahan of Citizens of Humanity, Guess, and Lucky Brand fame, alongside Adriano Goldschmied of AG Jeans, A Gold E is technically not new, but it is freshly re-launched with a whole new look. The surfer-infused vibe of the LA-based brand is thanks to Creative Services Director and world-renowned surfer, Kassia Meador. The classic styles and relaxed washes are fuss-free and ready for anything.

Vanessa Traina Snow collaborated with Kate Wendelborn of clothing line The Protagonist, and Scott Morrison of 3x1 denim, to create two exclusive styles. Traina Snow likens the resulting silhouette to “the fit of a men’s 501, but made for a woman.” Sign us up.

As if we weren’t already in love with Madewell’s denim offerings, they went a step further and created a limited edition of small batch styles made and hand finished in LA. From the denim-obsessive in all of us, thank you.

There are denim jackets and then there is this piece of artwork. The woven panels on the front and back of this jacket are surprisingly sturdy, despite their delicate appearance. Perfect for throwing over a dress on a warm summer night.
